On May 1, 2018, the International Labor Day, SEP Chairman and Party Secretary Wang Yundan went to Waigaoqiao Power Plant, visited and extended warm greetings to the staff sticking to their production posts during the Labor Day holiday.

Wang arrived at the pilot test site of biomass coupled power generation project and the closed coal yard successively, with an in-depth understanding of the progress of biomass coupled power generation test and the coal storage situation of the power plant. He also visited the central control room of the power plant as well as the shift teams of SEP Operation and SEP Engineering at the power plant.

After listening to the work report of Waigaoqiao Power Plant, Wang highly praised the power plant for its achievements made in safety production, operation and Party construction from January to April.

Wang required the power plant to seriously study and implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and Xi Jinping Thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, establish itself in the new era, follow the new requirements closely, combine the practical work of the enterprise reform and development, work safety and operation management, appreciate the situation, seize the opportunity, carry forward the "Three Thousands" spirit positively, and strive to make substantial breakthrough in the critical period of transformation, development, reform and innovation.

He called on the power plant to expand the market industriously. The power plant leadership should have a clear positioning, proceed from the actual conditions of the enterprise, stick to "one policy for one plant", and attempt to overcome various difficulties and achieve innovation and creation in the aspects of quality and efficiency enhancement and transformation and development. The power plant should intensify publicity, carry out communication with local government, residents and customers actively, endeavor to create a favorable external environment for the enterprise, integrate into the new business pattern and excellent city construction of Shanghai deeply, study the demand of the market and customers earnestly, strengthen research on direct service for customers, CCHP, etc., improve the comprehensive adaptability to changes for the enterprise, keep on expanding the external market, convert the existing resources of the enterprise to incremental value solidly, and manage to rejuvenate the old power plant in a real sense.

He also asked the power plant to improve its own quality. Besides Party construction, the power plant should further enhance work safety, with the leading group taking the initiative to focus on the fundamental safety, in order to reach full coverage of safety management with details taken care of. In addition, the power plant should strengthen system construction and harmony construction, turn quality strive for excellence, develop a habit of quality management, keep pace with the times, boost performance management and talent reserve, care for every employee attentively, lead all the cadres and staff to carry on with the enthusiasm for daily work and new undertaking, and endeavor to make new contributions towards the revitalization of the enterprise.
