Shanghai Electric Power Company Limited (hereinafter referred to as ¡°the Company¡±) was incorporated on June 4,1998.  It successfully went to initial public offering in RMB on October 14, 2003 and was listed in Shanghai Securities Exchange Center on October 29, 2003.  The major shareholders are China Power Investment Corp. and East China Power Development Company with the equity of 64.56% and 20.09% respectively. The 15.35% remainder equity is owned by the public.

    Up to December 31, 2003, we wholly owns Shanghai Wujing Thermal Power Plant, Shanghai Minhang Power Plant, Shanghai Yangshupu Power Plant, Shanghai Nanshi Power Plant and Engineering Branch with the registered capital of RMB1.5635 billion, a total asset of RMB 10.825 billion and the net assets RMB 6.097 billion. In addition,  we hold Shanghai Waigaoqiao Power Generation Co., Ltd., Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone Cogeneration Co., Ltd. and invests in Shanghai Wujing No.2 Power Generation Co., Ltd., Shanghai Waigaoqiao No.2 Power Generation Co., Ltd., Shanghai Power Fuel Co., Ltd., Shanghai Electric Power Materials Co., Ltd. and Shanghai Electric Power Designing Co., Ltd. while managing commissioned Shanghai Wujing Power Generation Co., Ltd.

    We are the largest power producer in Shanghai with the total installed capacity of 3409.2MW (managing commissioned included) in which the capacity in terms of percentage of equity is 2809.2MW and wholly owned capacity 1609.2MW respectively.
