On June 1, the company held the second enlarged meeting of the Safety Committee in 2024 and the mobilization meeting of energy supply for summer peak season. The meeting was presided over by Lin Hua, chairman of the company and director of the Safety Committee. Huang Chen, the main responsible person of the company and executive deputy director of the Safety Committee, attended and delivered a speech, while other company leaders attended the meeting.

Lin Hua pointed out that we must always remember “safety first”, deeply draw lessons from all kinds of accidents and gain feedback from the past experiences to prevent the occurrence of similar accidents and incidents. Great efforts should be made to enhance workplace safety and to carry out the activities of the “Safety Production Month” seriously and solidly. Each unit should pay attention to the climate change in summer, seriously take precautionary measures on high temperature, typhoon, flood and various disasters and enhance the ability of disaster precaution and disaster resistance to ensure the safety of personnel and equipment. During the festival, we should strictly implement the relevant regulations on duty, strengthen the management of duty and non-working hours, and make every effort to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the units during the summer peak season.

Lin Hua mentioned that workplace safety is the first prerequisite for realizing the company's “comprehensive improvement in quality and development”. To realize the positive interaction between high-quality development and high-level safety, we must correctly handle the relationship between development and safety. We must firmly guard the red line that “development must not be at the expense of human life”, improve and perfect the responsibility system for workplace safety, and manage the construction of the talent pipeline under the new background. Secondly, we should continue to carry out the construction of intrinsic safety enterprise. We should accelerate the construction work of “three bases” to strengthen grassroots, foundation and basic rule construction. We have to grasp the dual prevention mechanism of risk classification and hidden danger investigation and management, continuing to improve the safety and reliability of equipment, and the management of the equipment, and promoting the construction of intelligent stations and technological development. Thirdly, we must build long-term mechanism of workplace safety with strict control. Opposing the work style of seeking good relations with all and overcoming squeamishness and arrogance is of great importance. We must pay great attention to safety all the time. We must adhere to strict system, neutral attitude and serious management and avoid the violation of rules regarding command and order, operation procedures and workplace conducts. We should put an end to the formalism and promote construction for long-effect mechanism to observe the principle of doing no harm to oneself and others and protecting oneself from being harmed by others and protecting others from being harmed.

Huang Chen emphasized that all the units should further implement the deployment on energy supply of government departments at all levels and the group company, recognize the complexity of the grim situation during the coming summer peak, and resolutely shoulder the responsibility of energy security. The main responsible person of each unit must personally arrange the attribution of the responsibility to ensure not to drop the ball at the critical moment.

Firstly, we should ensure workplace safety and stability with strict regulations. We need to always maintain high-handed posture regarding workplace safety, to organize the risk investigation of the summer peak season. The leadership of the units should lead the team to carry out “full coverage” supervision and inspection to promote the correction through supervision and implementation through inspection. Secondly, we should spare no efforts to ensure reliable unit operation. To guarantee no unscheduled shutdowns and decreases in generation, we should strengthen unit operation and maintenance management, quality and quantity of fuel management, to ensure that the electricity can be generated fully and stably and as much as possible. Thirdly, we should enhance emergency response capability with great practice. We should enhance the monitoring and early warning capabilities and rapid response capabilities, improve the energy security supply emergency plans, effectively strengthen the flood control emergency response capabilities, and actively prepare for typhoon and flood.

During the meeting, Wan Wenwei, the Safety Director, conveyed the requirements of the Group on the experience of the recent accidents, and the Office of the Safety Committee of the Company, the Thermal Power Department, and the New Energy and New Industry Department summarized the work from January to May this year and deployed the key focus for the next phase. Based on the topic of the summer peak season, the Thermal Power Department declared the company's requirements for energy supply, while the Marketing Department briefly analyzed the power supply and demand in Shanghai, and Wujing Power Plant, Caojing Power Plant and Waigaoqiao Power Plant made special speeches on energy supply.

Members of the company's Safety Committee, heads of relevant departments and relevant personnel of Wujing Power Plant, Caojing Power Plant and Waigaoqiao Power Plant attended the meeting at the main venue, while leaders and relevant personnel of all three-level units attended the meeting online.
